A Day in the Life of April Bloomfield in 33 Photos

New, 4 comments

Chef April Bloomfield let Eater follow her around for a day with a camera. This is what she got up to.

Bloomfield starts off her day with a workout at X-Fit with trainer Jimmy Fusaro. She met Fusaro through Mario Batali, and works out with him a couple of days a week, doing boxing and strength training. After her workout she is off to The Spotted Pig for some office meetings before roasting a duck or two for a photo shoot that also includes having her portrait taken.

Next she is off to pick up a copy of Ma Gastronomie by Fernand Point at Bonnie Slotnick's West Village bookshop Cookbooks. Bloomfield then heads up to The Breslin to meet with chef Christina Lecki, and to review a dessert she will be serving at a benefit for Edible Schoolyards the next day. After a quick stop off at The Breslin's corporate offices she pops down to the Union Square Green Market, where she runs into her friend Dan Kluger, who's still a chef at large after leaving ABC Kitchen in June. After some shopping there, she heads back to The Spotted Pig to prepare for dinner service. She works the line until closing.
