Azasu Hosts Industry Night; Oktoberfest at DBGB

Free ramen for those in the industry, beer and sausage at DBGB, and the annual balut eating contest.

LOWER EAST SIDE — Azasu is hosting an industry night on Saturday. Folks in the food world can stop by after 11 p.m. for bowls of free off-menu tsukemen ramen. The restaurant hopes to host nights like this on a bi-monthly basis. Bring a business card to prove that you're part of the club. [Eaterwire]

LOWER EAST SIDE — Maharlika and Jeepney are hosting their third annual Balut Eating Contest at the Hester Street Fair this Saturday (balut is a boiled duck embryo). Festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For those who wish to join in the eating contest, email contactiluvbalut@gmail.com.
