Novelty pastry wizard Dominique Ansel has just announced plans to expand his Cronut-making operation to Japan. Today the chef responsible for inciting the biggest food mania of the last two years Instagrams a photo of a Cronut over Tokyo, with the news that he plans to open a second outpost of Dominique Ansel in Omotesando Hills, a mega shopping complex in the middle of the city. The new bakery is slated to open in summer of 2015, and Ansel promises "There will be something created just for Tokyo, and I will personally see every aspect of development." Going global is a major move for Ansel, who has always been very present and hands on at his Soho bakery.
