The East Village's 70s-styled bar has been turned into more of a neighborhood place, with cocktails, burgers, and wings.

Boilermaker, Golden Cadillac's re-do just opened, swapping its 1970's retro decor for what the team hopes will be a more neighborhood oriented atmosphere. Much of the core team is the same with the notable addition of bar master Erick Castro, who made a name for himself at Rickhouse in San Francisco and Polite Provisions in San Diego, reports Details.

He will oversee a menu of 20 "simple, clean, classic-inspired cocktails," as well as a selection of 16 American beers on tap, and four cocktails on tap. A selection of bar's namesake drink, boilermakers (a shot of hard liquor and beer), will also be on offer. As for food, Jeepney's Miguel Trinidad (who also created the menu at Golden Cadillac) and Ellicia Zitsman will be serving a menu of burgers, wings, and fries with various flavored mayos.
