Former North End Grill chef Floyd Cardoz's new restaurant White Street is opening tomorrow with a super luxe (and huge) dining room. Crystal chandeliers, tufted leather sofas, drapery, and white linens give the former Churrascaria Tribeca space a classy old school New York ambiance, while exposed brick and a funky glass wine vault keep it from being too stuffy. Media tycoons and restaurateurs Dan Abrams and Dave Zinczenko, and BondSt GM Christine Cole, are also part of the team. Despite Cardoz's previous interest in a menu rooted in Indian flavors, White Street will serve a more American menu with "global influences." The full menu is still forthcoming, but expect dishes like a tower of braised short ribs over mustard puree and grits and slow cooked striped bass in ginger broth.
