'Burg Starbucks Denied Liquor License for Being Sneaky

New, 7 comments

Starbucks went before Brooklyn's Community Board 1 last night, seeking liquor license approval for the next step of its Williamsburg invasion, but the board wasn't having it. Because the name Starbucks didn't appear on the request for a liquor license for the planned N 7th Street outpost, CB1 members decided that the company wasn't being transparent enough about it's true mega corporate identity. In order to move forward, Starbucks will have to post signage that reveals the space for what it really is, and do outreach to make sure neighbors know they're about to get a Starbucks that serves wine. Then it will have to go before the Community Board again next month to give it another shot.
