It's here. Danny Meyer, Terry Coughlin, and Nick Anderer's crazily anticipated Roman-style pizzeria Marta is soft opening tonight and officially dishing up saucy and white pies tomorrow at 6 p.m. Pizzas like the fiori di zucca topped with mozzarella, zucchini flowers and anchovies; and the mercato with ricotta, corn, okra and peppers, make up a good part of the menu but there are traditional (and not so traditional) Roman starters and mains too.
Breakfast service, which includes lots of things cooked in that shnazzy wood-fire pizza oven like spicy eggs amatriciana and sourdough bruschette topped with smoked char salad and capers, starts on Friday at 7 a.m. Time to break out those cute personal Negroni bottles.
