1) Bed-Stuy: The old Casablanca Cocktail Lounge space at on the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and MacDonough Street is under construction with plans to open this fall as Casablanca. The project is a collaboration between the owner of Noho's Von Bar and the designer of Bed-Vyne Brew, according to Brownstoner. Next door, a café called JHBK is in the works in the former Liquid Oz space. [Brownstoner, PLYWOOD]
2) East Village: Signage is up for Hibachi Dumpling Express on First Avenue. The restaurant will take over 2 Bros. Pizza, which shuttered for a "remodel" recently. Counting The Bao on Saint Marks and the much buzzed about Mimi Cheng's, the newcomer will be the third dumpling joint to open in the neighborhood this season. [EV Grieve]
3) FiDi: The old St. George Syrian Catholic Church on Washington Street will soon play host to St. George's Tavern, a restaurant that will serve two menus, one inspired by Shanghai, the other by pub fare. The project is operated by Chinese developer Sam Chang who is also opening a Holiday Inn next door in September. [DNAinfo]
4) Williamsburg: Signage on Roebling at North 6th Street announces that a place called Green Sushi Bistro will open sometime in August. So far, no other details about the place are available. [Brownstoner]
