Columbus72, which held the last cabaret license on the Upper West Side, is closing. As the Post notes, Madonna filmed one of her first videos in the space back when it was known as the Star Club. The shutter marks the end of an era for the neighborhood, which was once home to a number of big clubs including China Club. No word yet on who will take over the massive 7,000 square foot space.
