Subway Inn Escapes Eviction Once Again

Today, as planned, the owners of the Subway Inn headed back to court, to fight their impending eviction. Now, owner Steven Salinas sends word to EV Grieve that once again, a judge has ruled in the dive bar's favor and stayed the eviction proceedings. This may only be a brief respite for the Salinas family, since their official lease expires in February. But the family is continuing their campaign to save the 77-year-old bar from the wrecking ball, now with the support of the Landmark Preservation Commission, Councilman Dan Garodnick, and State Senator Liz Krueger.
