Chris Young and Stephen Tanner's forthcoming barbecue/Mexican mashup El Cortez (they have apparently decided against calling it El Dorado) in Bushwick might not have a set menu until the day before it opens. But so far they're planning smoked meat served either "white-boy style" on potato rolls, or "Mexican" with flour tortillas. Tanner's legendary fried chicken may or may not end up on the menu. It all depends on whether Young will design chicken buckets with Tanner's face on them. [GS]
