Golden Cadillac to Stay Retro, Return as Boilermaker

Daniel Krieger

Disco-era themed cocktail bar Golden Cadillac, which shuttered last month, will, as promised, open once more, this time as the revamped Boilermaker. Partners James Tune, Don Lee, and Greg Boehm from Cocktail Kingdom, who were also behind Golden Cadillac, have hired San Francisco master barman Erick Castro. The cocktail list is still plenty retro, but new on the menu are a wide variety of (surprise, surprise) boilermakers, in combinations like Old Grand-Dad bourbon and Brooklyn Lager.

Expect a few non-beer cocktails as well, including a Zombie made with three kinds of rum. Chef Miguel Trinidad is swapping out the retro food he served at Golden Cadillac for In-N-Out-style burgers. Boilermaker is expected to open sometime early next month.
