After a little over a year, chef Damon Wise is bidding adieu to Lafayette this month. Wise has been the chef de cuisine at Andrew Carmellini, Luke Ostrom, and Josh Pickard's French blockbuster since it opened in the spring of last year, but is now leaving New York "to pursue a project of his own," a rep tells Eater. The chef will cook his last servings of chicken salad and spaghetti niçoise this week, and then Carmellini and Michael Oliver (former chef at The Library) will oversee things until a replacement is found.
