Jeff Gordinier takes the A train uptown to the laid back Indian Road Cafe, where he falls for simple, well executed food like a shrimp and bacon sandwich with chipotle mayo and skirt steak accompanied by potatoes and goat cheese aioli. It's a "restaurant that seems to exist so far from the assembly line of trends that you believe you're a few thousand miles from New York. I mean that as a compliment. We could all use a road trip."
