Leading British wine magazine World of Fine Wine has announced the winners of its very first World's Best Wine Lists awards, and by their numbers, New York is by far best town for wine drinkers to get their drink on. The list ranks 750 restaurants around the world (narrowed down from 4,000) with one, two or three stars in wine selection, and New York leads the pack with 36 restaurants garnering three stars. London, comes in second with a measly 17.

Top accolades in the city go to the usual suspects: Eleven Madison Park, Pearl & Ash, Daniel, Bar Boulud, Per Se, Bouley, Babbo, and Del Posto to name a few. But Marco Canora's beloved East Village restaurant, Hearth gets the highest honor, being deemed the Best Wine List in North America.
