Signage is up at the new West Village outpost of Mighty Quinn's on Greenwich Avenue, signaling the imminent arrival of smoked meat. The hit East Village barbecue joint took over the former Bone Lick Park space earlier this year, and now is just a few weeks days away from bringing beef ribs and excellent brisket to the Village. No word on an exact opening date yet, but owner Hugh Mangum tells Eater he is "literally waiting on one thing," and then he should be ready to open. Update: Mangum now says the restaurant will open either Monday or Tuesday.
Mighty Quinn's (which got its start at Smorgasburg) has been on an expansion tear this year, opening locations in New Jersey and Battery Park City's hot new food hall, Hudson Eats. The restaurant will also land in Brooklyn when Berg'n, the hugely anticipated beer hall from the Smorgasburg team, opens later this month.
