After announcing last week that he'd host a second Mission Chinese Food pop-up in Manhattan, Danny Bowien finally reveals where it will take place: at Mile End on Bond St. Diners can expect a multi-course prix-fixe format that may or may not be similar to the one served at the four month old pop-up at Frankie's 457, which features signature dishes like kung pao pastrami and bacon and salt cod fried rice, along with newer ones like red cabbage salad. In some ways, this is kind of like the Chinese prix fixe meal Mile End has offered on Sundays in the past, except with Bowien at the helm.
While the team is still hammering out the dates on the Manhattan pop-up, the Brooklyn outpost is is slated to run through August, by which point Bowien will hopefully sign the lease on a permanent space he's been rumored to be eyeing in Manhattan.
Update: A representative from Mission Chinese Food says the menu, price and dates of the Manhattan pop-up are still be worked out. Check back for more details.
