Miss Lily's Jerk Ramen; Rockaway Beach's Masafest

EAST VILLAGE — Miss Lily's 7A is making its Five Days of Meat special jerk ramen a Monday night mainstay. Adam Schop's take on the dish includes Caribbean jerk chicken, jerk pork belly, egg, and fermented scotch bonnet paste in a jerk broth. Bowls go for $15, and may also be available past Monday until supplies run out. [Eaterwire]

NORTH FORK — Tickets for ilili's 4th annual lamb roast at Paumanok Vineyards on the North Fork are now available. The traditional Lebanese-style lamb roast will include an heirloom tomato salad with aged goat labne, grilled octopus, and of course the lamb. Courses will be paired with wine from the vineyard. The dinner will be held on August 22 and tickets costs $175. [Eaterwire]

FAR ROCKAWAY — Several masa-loving restaurants are banding together to throw Masafest on August 9 on the Rockaway Beach 97th Street Boardwalk. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be food from Caracas Arepa Bar, Rockaway Taco, and others. A $125 dinner prepared by Mexico City chef Gabriela Cámara and Ignacio Mattos of Estela will benefit Sandy relief organization Graybeards and Misión Integral, a Mexico biodiversity organization. PORTLAND — What's the Scoop?, a Portland ice cream shop, has received threatening voice messages and phone calls for selling a special flavor to benefit Planned Parenthood. This is second time the shop has offered a fundraising flavor for that particular organization, but the first time it's suffered such nasty backlash. [~EN~]
