Looks like the Torrisi team is planning to cover Hong Kong in Red Sauce. A Hong Kong PR posts to Facebook: "Carbone Hong Kong.... It's official! Be ready for a feast of New York-Italian cuisine when the restaurant opens in August at LKF Tower." The building is already home to New York tapas restaurant Boqueria and the city boasts two outposts of Motorino, a Fatty Crab, and Michael White's Al Molo. A local publication also hears that Carbone will open on the ninth floor of the tower, but the Torrisi team has not yet confirmed. It does, however, look pretty certain that the Torrisi team has reached the international phase of its world domination plans.

Torrisi partners Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, have all kinds of expansions planned locally, but Carbone HK would be the team's first project outside of New York. Parm locations are in the works on the Upper West Side, in Williamsburg, by Barclay's Center, and at Brookfield Place. And, the team's highly anticipated Dirty French in The Ludlow is slated to open this summer (the bar is already open). Later this year, expect an Italian restaurant near the Highline and an appetizing shop with Roberta's alum Melissa Weller.
Update: Jeff Zalaznick confirms that Carbone Hong Kong will open mid-August with a menu that's similar to the one served in New York but also influenced by local ingredients.
