Danny Meyer's plans for the food at the 9/11 Memorial Museum no longer involve sit down service, a "subdued" menu and liquor. A museum representative told the Post that the full menu will be replaced by coffee, tea and pastries for the space now dubbed The Cafe, which will open this month.
Many, including the Post's Steve Cuozzo publicly criticized plans for what was going to be called the Pavilion Cafe in May. Cuozzo wrote then: "I can go for tomato soup and grilled cheese after staring at Picassos for a few hours. My appetite isn't the same after a tour through hell." A museum representative declined to comment on the reason for the changes. A percentage of the proceeds will still be donated to the museum.
