Preserve24, the year-old Houston Street restaurant with an elaborate polar explorers origin story and a bizarre interior to match, has shuttered. Bowery Boogie notes that a sign on the door says the restaurant, which was opened by San Francisco-based artist Brian Goggin and former Fig & Olive chef John Parlatore, now has new owners and is "under remodel." No word yet on who the new owners will be, what the remodeling will entail, or what will happen to the dinghy-shaped bar and the gigantic, cage-like "reliquary" for an imaginary chunk of ice.
