The original Union Square location of Cambodian sandwich favorite Num Pang will close this Sunday to make way for a new development. The building that houses the tiny takeout spot will be torn down to make way for a set of condos. The good news, however, for fans of the banh mi mini-chain, is that owners Ben Daitz and Ratha Chaupoly have found a new location right across the street from the original. No word on exactly when, but some time in the coming months Num Pang will reopen at 28 East 12th Street. Until then there are plenty of other locations in Midtown, Chelsea, and Battery Park City.
