John McDonald Rumored for Sixty Soho Restaurant

The John McDonald rumor du jour is that the prolific downtown restaurateur (Lure, B & B, El Toro Blanco) is teaming up with the Sixty Soho (formerly Sixty Thompson) hotel for two new projects. Rumor has it that McDonald is working on a bar and a restaurant that will debut after the hotel undergoes a top-to-bottom renovation. Currently, the boutique hotel is home to Kittichai, Thom Bar, and A60. It's unclear if any of those operations would close to make way for the new McDonald project, but it sounds like some big changes are on the way. Maybe McDonald should consider reviving the dearly departed MercBar...
