Dok Suni and Rocket Joe's Both Serve Their Last

As expected, Quentin Tarantino's favorite Korean restaurant, Dok Suni, closed over the weekend. A sign in the window reads: "We want to thank our guests for the great support you have shown us over the past 21 years. We'll miss you all." Dok Suni's sister restaurant, Do Hwa, is still open in the West Village. Word on the street is that a new owner is taking over the space with plans to open another Korean restaurant.

Downtown Manhattan also lost another two-decade-old cheap eats staple last week: Rocket Joe's. Bowery Boogie notes that the Delancey Street pizzeria is shuttered and the phone line is disconnected. The space hit the market last winter. The pizza at Rocket Joe's was never very good, but it stuck around for 22 years. No word yet on what will take its place.
