Bastille Day at Montmartre; Take Root's Vegetarian Menu

WEST VILLAGE — Tickets just went on sale for Montmartre's Bastille Day party on July 13 (actually the day before Bastille Day). The party will take place in the back garden from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., with food from Michael Toscano plus unlimited cocktails, beer, and wine. CARROLL GARDENS — For one weekend in July, Eater Young Guns semifinalist Elise Kornack will serve a vegetarian tasting menu at Take Root. The six-course meal takes place on July 31, August 1, and 2, and includes dishes like cold macadamia soup and warm yellow beets with smoked egg yolk, and is $85 instead of the newly hiked regular menu price of $105. WILLIAMSBURG — Well-liked neighborhood seafood bistro Sel de Mer is currently on the market. According to the listing for the Graham Avenue restaurant, all furniture and kitchen equipment are included in the sale. But until the space sells, the fate of the restaurant is still up in the air.
