A busy Charlie Palmer has just announced plans to replace his daytime cafe/events space Astra with a new, bigger space called Upper Story. According to the Post, the 17-year-old Astra, which was located in the Decoration & Design building in Midtown, closed last month. It's replacement will be quite similar, serving a "modern American" menu to the general public at lunch and hosting private events at night. It will, however, get more seating and a more modern look. According to the website, Upper Story should open by October of this year. Palmer is also currently working on opening Crimson & Rye in the Lipstick Building and a trio of restaurants in the Knickerbocker Hotel.
