If you booked a 6:30 p.m. reservation at Keith McNally's Cherche Midi and the maitre d' sat you in the corner banquette and dropped the menu right before you took a seat, here is what you would see if you looked down at the table. That's a cream-colored menu with blue writing on a crisp white piece of butcher paper that's sitting atop a light pink tablecloth.
This menu contains items that wouldn't be out of place at acknowledged McNally masterpieces Balthazar and Minetta Tavern, as well as a handful of dishes that seem to come from a different culinary playbook entirely, like hamachi crudo, saddle of lamb with zucchini and eggplant, and dry-aged prime rib. Appetizers are priced $12 to $19, and most entrees cost between $21 to $35, with several options in the mid 20s.
McNally's newest dining establishment opens this evening. Take an up close look at the menu below, and do send any early reports our way.
Please note that these are the menus from friends & family, and so they do not have prices. But the burger is $21, and there are many entree options around $25.
