EXPANSIONS — Joshua and Heidy Smookler are planning to expand Mu Ramen to Boston. The duo will open their first proper sit-down restaurant in Long Island City next month, and they hope to open a second location in the Harvard Square area of Boston next year. Pete Wells put the their noodles at the top of his ramen list earlier this year. [EaterWire]
LOWER EAST SIDE — The developer that's planning to build on the space that's currently occupied by wd~50 might actually sell the property. The Lo-Down notices a new online listing for the development site. The news comes exactly one day after Wylie Dufresne announced plans to close wd~50, but this probably won't change the fate of the restaurant. [TLD]
EXPANSIONS — Today, Bryan Petroff chats with Eater National about Big Gay Ice Cream's Philadelphia expansion. The restaurateur notes: "Something that we always try to do when we choose locations is make sure that we're amongst good company ... [In Philadelphia], we'll be in walking distance to Marc Vetri's restaurants, Kevin Sbraga's, and Jose Garces' restaurants." [Eater National]
