You have less than six months to dine at Wylie Dufresne's trail-blazing modern cuisine restaurant wd~50 before it disappears. Today the chef tweets: "Nov 30 will be our final night of service at wd50. Come celebrate with us for the next 173 days. Stay tuned!!" The news doesn't come as a complete surprise, because the building that the restaurant is housed in is set to be demolished to make way for a new development. Back in April, when asked about the impending changes to the building, Wylie remarked, "We're not going anywhere! Don't worry."
No word yet on whether Wylie and his crew will reopen the restaurant somewhere else, or if this is simply the end of wd~50 as we know it. Stay tuned for more details as they become available. Dufresne also operates Eater 38 member Alder in the East Village.
