Tonight, noodle master Ivan Orkin will open his long-in-the-works Lower East Side Japanese restaurant, Ivan Ramen. The menu includes snacks like a "1000 year old deviled egg," fried chicken hearts & livers, crispy prawns with smoked chili, braised ox tongue, and dirty rice with monkfish liver. Ivan Ramen is also serving six types of noodles, including the shoyu and shio ramen varieties offered at Gotham West Market, as well as "triple pork/triple garlic" and "four cheese" mazemans. To drink, Ivan Ramen is offering beer, wine, sake, and some mixed drinks.
Ivan has a huge cult following, so expect a packed house tonight. There's a strong chance that this place will develop Cronut-level lines before too long. Take a look the space here, check out the menu below, and please send any early reports our way.
