Niki Russ Federman and Josh Tupper, the fourth generation owners of Russ & Daughters, opened their highly-anticipated Russ & Daughters Café this morning on Orchard Street. The new full-blown restaurant counterpart to Russ & Daughters has plenty of references to the iconic 100-year-old appetizing store, from the neon sign outside to the herringbone tiles on the floor, and its own slicing counter. But there's also an open kitchen, plenty of booths, and a soda fountain/bar.

Then menu includes all of the classic smoked fish, pickled herring, latkes, and caviar, but now in the form of platters, small plates, and more. There are egg dishes that range from eggs with lox and onions to soft scrambled eggs with caviar, plus open-faced sandwiches, soups, salads, and caviar with all the accoutrements. At the bar there are a variety of egg creams, plus cocktails, beer, and wine. For now the restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., but next week it'll start opening at 8 a.m. Check out the full menu, below.
