English chef Jonathan Wright is the man in charge of the food at the new Rainbow Room, which is slated to open in October. Wright previously worked at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in England, Raffles in Singapore, and Windsor Court in New Orleans. Flo Fab reports that the chef will serve "French-influenced farm-to-table" cuisine at the new version of the Rainbow Room.
This historic restaurant at the top of 30 Rock has been closed since 2009. Landlord/operator Tishman Speyer tapped Elizabeth Blau and her restaurant development company Blau + Associates to oversee the relaunch of the landmarked Art Deco space. The new Rainbow Room will be open to the public for Sunday brunch. Monday dinner, and holiday meals, but the rest of the time it will be used for private events.
