A Totally Revamped Paulaner Reopens Today

Paulaner Brauhaus, which shuttered back in April for a revamp, reopens today under new management. The beer hall now goes by simply Paulaner, and though it's still affiliated the German company Paulaner, it is now owned and run by two experienced restaurateurs: Wolfgang Ban, who's one half of the Edi & The Wolf team, and Markus Tschuschnig, an alum of the Stephen Starr empire. The pair have redone the entire space, adding communal tables and new banquettes (although the beer-brewing vats remain intact), and brought on former Blau Gans and Cafe Sabarsky chef Daniel Kill to create a new menu. That new menu includes house made charcuterie, bratwurst burgers, and more large platters of things meant for sharing. Hopefully Paulaner will make it past the five month mark this time around.
