Last night, at a gala event at Gotham Hall, the James Beard Foundation announced the winners of the 2014 James Beard Foundation Book, Broadcast & Journalism Awards. Heston Blumenthal's Historic Heston took home Cookbook of the Year, Jacquy Pfeiffer's The Art of French Pastry won in the Baking and Dessert category, René Redzepi: A Work in Progress got the Photography award, and Fuchsia Dunlop 's Every Grain of Rice took home the gold in the International category. Ms. Diana Kennedy won the Cookbook Hall of Fame award.
On the journalism side, Lucky Peach took home five awards, Alan Richman got the Craig Claiborne Distinguished Restaurant Review Award, The Mind of a Chef won for "Television Program, on Location," and First We Feast took home the gold for Group Food Blog.
The Restaurant and Chef Awards will be held on Monday Night at Lincoln Center.
