Park Slope's City Sub Has Shuttered, But Will Relocate

Photo: Instagram/mreddiehuang

City Sub, the well-loved Park Slope sandwich shop, has closed its Bergen Street location. Eddie Huang just tweeted a distraught photo of the sign in the shuttered sub shop's window, which reads: "We are closed due to the demolition and pending renovation of the building." Pete Wells and his film critic colleague A. O. Scott both responded with deep concern for the fate of the Brooklyn stalwart, but it turns out things are not as dire as they first appeared. As Here's Park Slope reports, another sign in the window says that City Sub's owners have plans to relocate elsewhere on the block. No word yet on where exactly that will be, but Here's Park Slope speculates that it may be the former Melt space at 440 Bergen Street, which has been under construction for several months.
