The space that holds the 110-year-old Italian bakery DeRobertis Pasticceria and Caffe is currently up for sale. EV Grieve reports that the building that houses the East Village classic has been on the market since last year, but it's only recently that the ground floor pastry shop (and basement kitchen) has been added to the listing. The DeRobertis family has been turning out cakes, cookies, and cannolis in the space since 1904, and has actually owned the building for the past 30 years, but according to the listing the space will be "delivered vacant." None of the cafe's owners could be reached for comment, and the space has not yet sold, but it might be wise to stop in for some rainbow cookies sooner rather than later.
