Intelligentsia Will Open an Outpost in an Urban Outfitters

A massive new Urban Outfitters "Lifestyle Center" that's opening in Herald Square next month will include New York's second outpost of Intelligentsia Coffee. The new cafe will be on the ground floor of the three-story mega Urban (which is about twice the size of a regular Urban Outfitters), and will have its own entrance. The Chicago-based roaster opened its first New York outpost in the High Line Hotel almost exactly one year ago, and if this new spot is anything like that one, it will have a carefully curated range of beans and brewing methods, plus pastries from Umber Ahmad's Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery. The whole thing, coffee shop, lifestyle center, and all is slated to open June 7.

Meanwhile, over at the other new mega Urban Outfitters in Williamsburg, Ilan Hall's LA import The Gorbals should be opening next to the menswear any day now.
