El Sombrero on Stanton Street is now hidden behind a thick wall of plywood. Bowery Boogie reports that the restaurant is now being operated by Jose and Junior Almonte, who are related to the original owners. Although they're making some upgrades to the space, word on the street is that they plan to keep serving cheap Mexican food. No word yet on when The Hat 2.0 will make its debut. [BB, Previously]
