Union Square Events, a spinoff of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, will run a casual restaurant at the National September 11 Memorial Museum called The Pavilion Cafe. The Times reports that this venue will offer "a subdued, seasonal, mostly vegetarian menu." Expect things like breakfast pastries, grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, salmon confit, and ricotta with peas. Meyer explains: "We knew that people would need a place to rest, to reflect and hopefully to be restored." The menu will be developed by USE's executive chef John Karangis. The 80-seat cafe is slated to open this summer.
