Bill Reed, the longtime service director and managing partner of The Brooklyn Star, is working on a tasting room and event space with his wife in the old Cozy Royale space on Humboldt Street. According to the restaurant's Facebook page, Humboldt & Jackson will "offer a unique selection of American wine and beer paired with domestic charcuterie and cheese plates in our front tasting room." The back space will be available for private events. Reed says that if everything goes according to plan, the new project will open in June. This is a side project that Reed will run in addition to his work at The Brooklyn Star.
Next week, the restaurateur and his crew will host a crazy golf and taco-themed Heritage Radio Network benefit at The Brooklyn Star and the Minisceongo Golf Club. Check out pictures of the build-out of Humboldt & Jackson on Facebook.
