Mark Ladner May Be Kickstarting a Gluten-Free Pasta Spot

Rumor has it that Del Posto chef Mark Ladner will launch a Kickstarter later this month for a new quick-service gluten-free pasta restaurant called Pasta Flyer. There aren't many details ahead of the crowdfunding campaign, which will launch after Memorial Day, but Ladner has put a lot of time into developing a gluten-free replica of everything on Del Posto's menu, and has done so with much success, so expect this to be better than your average gluten-free pasta joint.

Ladner himself has not made any announcements about the project, but he did retweet the news. If the chef is funding it with a Kickstarter campaign, it's likely that this is not a collaboration with Del Posto owners Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich, but there's no word yet on whether Ladner will leave his position at Del Posto or if this just is a side project. It is worth noting, however, that Dave Pasternack recently opened Barchetta independently of Batali and Bastianich, but still remains very much at the helm of Esca.
