Burke to 'Take a Backseat' in His Company's Operations

New, 3 comments

Earlier today, Eater sources whispered that some big changes were afoot in the David Burke Group. Word on the street was that the chefs and managers in the company received emails about Burke resigning from the group, which includes David Burke Townhouse, David Burke Fishtail, David Burke Kitchen, and the soon-to-open David Burke Fabrick. According to a rep, Mr. Burke is "still involved as an active owner of David Burke Group." But the rep also notes: "He has not resigned from the company, but he will take a backseat on the immediate day-to-day work and in the kitchen, where the executive chefs of each property will handle those duties."

Stephen Goglia, who was promoted to the CEO and President of the company last fall, will manage the day-to-day operations of the group. David Burke Townhouse is currently undergoing renovations with plans to reopen later this year, and the Burke Group's newest venture, David Burke Fabrick, is still slated to open later this month. Mr. Burke developed the new restaurant on West 38th Street and its menu.
