ReBar owner Jason Stevens, who has been on the lam since abruptly shuttering his Dumbo bar and allegedly making off with around $175K in cash and wedding deposits, turned up this morning at his arraignment. He was arrested at his home this morning, and has now been charged with multiple felonies, including grand larceny and tax fraud. According to the Wall Street Journal, Stevens' bail was set at $300,000 cash and $100,000 bond. A tipster told Gothamist that he was able to make that bail. Update: The WSJ has issued a correction: the bail was set at $30,000.
In the meantime, many of reBar's former employees have been working heroically to save some of the weddings that were supposed to take place at reBar. For those still left without a venue or a deposit, here's a list of other businesses offering their services, often at a discount.
