Robert Newton and Patina Team up for BBG Cafe

Brooklyn Botonic Garden; Krieger

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has tapped Patina Restaurant Group — of Lincoln, Brasserie, Stella 34, and The Sea Grill, to name a few — to run the dining operations and catering at the iconic attraction. Patina will be working with chef Robert Newton — of Nightingale 9, Seersucker, and Smith Canteen — on the dining options at the Garden, including a brand new cafe that will debut this fall. According to an announcement released today, Newton will serve "a seasonal menu inspired by the Garden" at this year-round restaurant overlooking Lily Pool Terrace.

As you may recall, last fall, Newton teamed up with Patina to serve some of Seersucker's most popular dishes at Rock Center Cafe in Midtown. The chef is currently wrapping up a trip to Saigon, but he'll begin working on the revamp of the dining at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden as soon as he gets back next week. If everything goes according to plan, the new cafe at BBG will open in October.
