Yunnan Kitchen's New Chef; The Garden at Butter is Open

CHEF SHUFFLES — Yunnan Kitchen has just appointed Doron Wong as its new executive chef (Travis Post left the position last summer). Wong, who has worked with chefs like Ken Oringer, David Burke, and Susur Lee has developed a new menu that includes dishes like spicy pulled pork cold noodles and cumin chicken with charred okra and crispy rice. MIDTOWN — Butter just opened up its garden this week, and is now serving lunch and evening cocktails there. The lunch menu includes a fried chicken Waldorf salad and mini lobster rolls, while the cocktail menu features new frozen drinks like a Dark and Stormy made with Kelvin Slush and booze. [EaterWire]

MIDTOWN — The Brooklyn Brewery is popping up at the Summer Garden at the Rock Center Cafe next Monday. Tickets to the two hour beer garden are good for six tastes of beer paired with foods like a green papaya steak salad, and chicken cuban sandwiches, and also include a voucher for a beer after the event.
