The Williamsburg Crif Dogs by Krieger

It looks like Crif Dogs, the 14-year-old East Village hot dog joint, is planning to open a new location in Greenwich Village. The May Community Board 2 agenda includes a liquor license application for a "Crif Dogs West" at 120 MacDougal Street, and it seems unlikely that this could be anything other than the Crif Dogs. This would be the third outpost Crif outpost (not counting the food truck), after the Williamsburg location opened back in 2010. Eater has reached out to the Crif team, and will update with details as they become available.

In a bizarre twist, 120 MacDougal Street is the same place that another sausage purveyor, Dogmatic, relocated to just this past December. Although it's only been five months, Village residents apparently did not take to those sausages stuffed into baguettes. The phone is no longer in service, the Seamless page is inactive, Foursquare says it's closed, and the website now reads "Location coming soon." It remains to be seen whether Crif-style sausages will be better received.
