Ma Peche Launches Brunch; A Sustainable Seafood Shindig

MIDTOWN — Má Pêche is launching a Saturday brunch this weekend. The dim sum offerings include a breakfast pastry cart, a bloody mary cart, and a cart with biscuits and gravy or grits. MIDTOWN EAST — Riverpark is hosting the first annual Sustainable Seafood Shindig on May 6. Guest chefs like April Bloomfield, David Chang, Anita Lo, and Dave Pasternack will pair off at chef's counters, and guests will be able to dine at two of the counters, for a total of four dishes from four chefs. SOHO — Back Forty West has rescheduled its annual Calçotada, a Catalan celebration of spring, to May 11. The event, which centers on eating grilled overwintered leeks with romesco sauce, was supposed to take place this weekend, but the leeks have taken longer than expected to grow to full size. Besides leeks there will also be grilled lamb chops, sausages, white beans, and porrons of rosé. Tickets are $113 and can be bought online. [EaterWire]
