Glady's Reopens After a Caribbean Revamp

Photo: Marguerite Preston

After a month-long revamp, Glady's, the formerly sandwich-focused Crown Heights restaurant from Morris Grilled Cheese owner Michael Jacober reopened over the weekend as a Caribbean restaurant. It's still called Glady's, but now the menu consists of West Indian standards like curry goat, escoveitch fish, and rice & peas, plus some unconventional options like jerk lobster and duck sausage.

From the outside the place looks the same, except for addition of the word "Caribbean" to the sign. But inside there are new tropical plants and shutters in the window, and a new island bar serves rum flights, slushies and punches along with beer and wine. Jacober also plans to open Morris Test Kitchen, a spinoff of his grilled cheese truck, next door.
