Although Jeffrey Chodorow has been occupying himself with high profile projects like Little Prince and All'onda as of late, he hasn't left the trendy hotel restaurant game behind entirely. After a year in the works, East & West, a new restaurant in the Yotel from El Chod's China Grill Management, opens this Wednesday. As its name might suggest, the menu from chef Bradley Day mixes dishes like crab-stuffed deviled eggs and short rib pot roast with sushi rolls and kimchi fried rice. Rather than take the traditional form of its predecessor, the restaurant ("modeled after a business class airline lounge") includes a lounge area, counter seating, private meeting spaces, and "laptop-friendly" communal tables as well as a casual dining area.
China Grill Management will also turn the space that once held Richard Sandoval's Dojo into a private events room later this spring, while the outdoor dining space The Terrace will soon relaunch with a rotating calendar of events.
