Daniel Patterson, the acclaimed chef of several San Francisco restaurants, including the two Michelin-starred Coi, is teaming up with George Mendes to cook a meal at Aldea later this month. On April 21 the two chefs will serve a tasting menu that combines Mendes's Portuguese cuisine with Patterson's California style. No word on the exact menu yet, but Patterson is known to forage for ingredients like lichen when he's creating new dishes.
The meal is $125 per person, which is cheaper than the $195 tasting menu served at Coi, although pricier than Aldea's regular $110 tasting menu. Wine pairings are an additional $70 and reservations can be made by calling Aldea at 212-675-7223.
